7 Biggest Mistakes I Made While Trying to Earn Online (And What I Learned)

I come from a low middle-class family.
No backup. No side income.
Just one dream: to earn something — anything — online.

I watched countless videos, read dozens of blogs, but still... I failed.
Not because the internet doesn’t work — but because I was making the same mistakes so many beginners make.

If you’re starting out, read this. Learn from me. Save your time.

Mistake 1: Believing in “Quick Money” Scams

At first, I believed every video that said:

“Earn ₹2000 per day from your mobile – no skills needed!”

I signed up on fake survey sites, clicked ads for hours, even downloaded shady apps… and got nothing.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ 90% of online “easy money” is fake.
πŸ‘‰ Real online income comes with effort, skills, and patience.

Mistake 2: Jumping Into Too Many Things at Once

I tried everything:

  • Freelancing

  • YouTube

  • Dropshipping

  • Reselling apps

  • Instagram pages
And failed at all of them.

Why? Because I had no focus.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ Choose ONE platform.
πŸ‘‰ Master it slowly. Don’t run in 10 directions at once.

Mistake 3: Waiting for Perfect Tools

I thought:

“I need a better laptop.”
“I need perfect English.”
“I need to buy a paid course first.”

But days became weeks… and I never started.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ Start with what you have.
πŸ‘‰ I started with a basic laptop, free Blogger platform, and no paid tools — but a hungry heart.

Mistake 4: Copying Others Instead of Being Myself

At first, I copied blog topics and formats from others. I thought if I just did what they did, I’d grow fast.

But my blogs felt dry… soulless… and no one connected.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ Be original.
πŸ‘‰ Share your truth. Your journey is your power.

Mistake 5: Expecting Results Too Soon

I posted 3 blogs and expected money.
I kept checking views every hour.
When nothing came, I got frustrated.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ Google takes time. Growth is slow.
πŸ‘‰ Don’t expect magic in 5 days — give it 5 months.

Mistake 6: Not Learning the Basics of SEO and Traffic

I thought just writing a blog was enough.
I didn’t care about keywords, titles, labels, or traffic sources.

So even good content stayed hidden.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ Learn SEO (even the basics)
πŸ‘‰ Use proper labels, descriptions, permalinks
πŸ‘‰ Share your blog on social media regularly

Mistake 7: Not Treating Blogging Like a Real Job

I was casual. Some days I wrote, some days I didn’t.
No plan, no discipline — just vibes.

πŸ› ️ What I learned:
πŸ‘‰ Show up daily like it’s your real job
πŸ‘‰ Be consistent even when you feel lazy
πŸ‘‰ That’s how things grow

πŸ’‘ Final Thoughts:

Now I’ve posted 20 blogs in 19 days.
I’m still learning. Still grinding.
But today, I feel stronger, sharper, and more hopeful.

So if you’re lost, if you’ve failed, if you’re doubting yourself —
Just start. And learn from these mistakes.
